Details
In the 1890s, Catherine Weldon, a portrait painter from Brooklyn, embarks on a journey to Dakota to paint a portrait of Sitting Bull, a renowned Lakota chief. Little does she know that this simple task will plunge her into the midst of a fierce struggle between the Lakota people and the US government over their land rights.
As Catherine becomes more involved with the Lakota community, she witnesses the injustices they face as their lands are confiscated and their culture suppressed. Determined to make a difference, she starts advocating for their rights, even in the face of hostility and danger.
