Details
The Poet is a 2007 historical drama set in 1939 Poland during World War II. The story follows the lives of two young individuals, Oskar Koenig and Rachel, who meet during a blinding snowstorm. Oskar, a Nazi officer, saves Rachel, an unconscious young woman who lost her way, and brings her back to his farmhouse. Instantly, they fall in love with each other, unaware of each other's backgrounds.
As their relationship blossoms, Oskar's true identity is revealed. He is a part of an undercover unit tasked with finding and capturing Polish resistance fighters by blending in as farmers. Meanwhile, Rachel, the daughter of a rabbi, is engaged to her childhood friend, Bernard.
