My Mom's New Boyfriend (2008) tells the story of Henry, a young FBI agent who returns home to Shreveport after a three-year absence. To his surprise, he finds that his mother, Marty, has transformed herself both physically and socially. Marty has lost over 100 pounds and has become a party animal, much to Henry's embarrassment.
Soon after Henry's return, Marty meets a charming foreigner named Tommy, who claims to be a consultant. However, Tommy is actually an international art thief with plans to steal a valuable sculpture called Mother and Son, created by Bernini. Henry, along with his fiancée Emily, who is also an FBI profiler, is tasked with keeping Tommy under surveillance.
