Details
In the movie Min stora feta grekiska semester (2009), Georgia, an American academic, finds herself unemployed in Athens. Desperate for work, she reluctantly accepts a job as a tour guide. However, Georgia despises the job, and her dislike for it is evident to the tourists, who are mostly American and uninterested in the historical facts she shares. Instead, they are more interested in shopping.
As with every tour group, this one consists of the typical characters: a goofy couple, a frat boy, a moody teenager, a bickering couple, divorced individuals seeking a new partner, and a funny guy. The group faces additional challenges, such as the absence of air conditioning and a silent bearded driver.
However, amidst the chaos, Georgia forms an unlikely friendship and encounters various amusing incidents involving daisies, ice-cream cones, the history of syrup, and a visit to the Oracle at Delphi. These unexpected experiences provide Georgia with a glimmer of hope that she may be able to find meaning and happiness in her life.
