[Summary]: Set in post-war South Korea in 1953, Chronicle of a Blood Merchant tells the story of Heo Sam-Gwan, a hardworking construction worker who also helps his uncle with farming. In their village, men are unable to get married unless they can prove their healthy condition by selling their blood. This blood-selling practice also serves as a means for them to earn extra income.

One day, Heo Sam-Gwan's eyes are captivated by the enchanting beauty of Heo Ok-Ran, who is already dating the wealthy playboy Ha So-Yong. Undeterred by this, Heo Sam-Gwan sets a personal goal to marry Heo Ok-Ran. Determined to achieve his dream, he begins selling his blood to accumulate enough money for their future.

Fast forward 11 years, Heo Sam-Gwan and Heo Ok-Ran are now married and have three children. However, life takes an unexpected turn when a secret from Heo Sam-Gwan's past is revealed, challenging the foundation of their relationship.
